Sister Midnight bio
An ongoing, monthly cover song project, curated, recorded & played by Steven Darrow. Re-Recording obscure yet classic Heavy Rock, Psych, Proto-Metal & Post-Prog, Glam rock songs and TV/Film Soundtrack themes. Mostly from the ‘Golden Era' circa late 1960-early 80s, many you’ve probably never heard before .
All instruments on these recordings are played by Steve, with future guest musicians planned. The vocals will be handled by various singers who fit the tone & vibe of the chosen songs. Male & Female. Hopefully, there will be tunes from all over the globe, sung in their native language, if possible, since USA & UK weren’t the only countries producing really cool Heavy records in the past.
Hopefully this project will help bring some rather unknown tunes back to life in the present day. Some tunes will be covered verbatim, others will sway a little from their original path, but all will ROCK, and some way or another. Not just Heavy Fuzz, and downtuned wailing, although there will be plenty of that for sure.
Basically, a big bucket full of Steve’s Bucket list songs that leaked out over the years, under the radar.
Some songs where chosen based on their subject matter/concepts (Vampires, Witches, Demons etc. and other fun topics) others where chosen simply because they kick ‘Major Ass’ plain & simple.
Steve is the currently Guitarist/songwriter of Sonic Medusa. As well as playing Drums, Bass & Guitar in many Punk, Metal, Roots Rock since age of 13.

So refreshing to hear this sound; groove, great chorus transitions, and technical when it needs to be. Best find of the year so far and a band to watch. David Rothbauer

Give Boss Keloid citizenship to Greece Now!! Powerful rumbling Greek god like vocals imbue the soul. And the heavy colosseum Rock shakes the olives from the trees!! Super tidy and delicious Live recording of a fantastic album!! Justin@BlindMouse

A neat conceptual album; as a hardcore roleplayer, I appreciate the module and can't really separate module from album; definitely one of the albums that you want to listen to in its entirety, not just dip into. endzeitgeist
