Jakethehawk present a masterful cover of "Seven Devils" originally by Florence and the Machine as a bit of pre-tour tantalization. Says frontman John Huxley: "I've always been really impressed with the orchestration and production in Florence and the Machine records, and this song is a favorite, so it was a fun challenge to interpret it through the lens of our style. There is a lot of air in the production of the original, so finding ways to make the track hit hard, while still maintaining that sense of space was a unique challenge, but I'm really happy with the sounds and moments we captured here. Also, we had the opportunity to have Jack Ferranti, my dad, sing some harmony vocals on this track so that was a really cool experience for me since I probably wouldn't be playing music at all if it wasn't for him."
Oh man this record is so so good and I love this band to death! I first stumbled across Gentle Clovis a month or two ago and that was my intro to the band. That chorus! Goosebumps, smiling ear to ear, I was in love instantly. Gave the rest of the album a listen and decided I needed to deep dive the rest of their discography and I am SO glad that I did. If you haven’t heard this band/record, what are you waiting for?! This is the stuff right here! Anthony Rizzo
