Kirk Gauthier I don’t know about you, but I kinda miss that ‘80s hard rock scene. Wild, goofy, fun, and more than a little cheesy, there were so many great bands that played their hearts out and rarely room themselves too seriously. That’s why I dig this debut from Trading Aces; it embodies that style so well. To listen to this record, you’d think these guys were from the West Coast, not multiple countries. But what these guys do all have in common is RIFFS. Put this one on for your Summer road trip. Favorite track: Beautiful Sunday.

Comprised of musicians spanning three different countries, Trading Aces is a 4-piece band of rock ‘n’ roll outlaws obsessed with fast cars, hard drinkin’, breakin’ laws and breakin’ hearts. Featuring members of Warrior Soul, Streetwalkin’ Cheetahs, and The City Kids, The Aces met during the pandemic, hustlin’ music to survive while the world froze. Their sound is a mix of hard rock, punk, and old school heavy metal, laced with plenty of hooks and spilling over with volume and attitude. Think Wildhearts meets Social Distortion.
